Epic day today! This was my ninth riding day, and the first day of Reach 2, from Tempe, Arizona to El Paso, Texas. I covered 83.7 miles, with the most climbing I have ever squeezed into one day!

Day Six

The morning in Parker, Arizona was clear, bright and chilly—45 degrees, with a forecasted high of 71. Not snowing, like it was back home in Missoula.

Day Five

Today has been my longest ride so far, nearly 84 miles from my bivouac in the Mojave Desert to east of the Colorado River in Arizona.

Day Four

I’m in TwentyNine Palms, at the NE corner of Joshua Tree National Park. Winds continue to be helpful, though I’m getting flats at a rate of two a day. So it kind of evens out.

Day Three

56.2 miles today, Loma Linda to roughly the intersection of 29 Palms Highway and Indian Canyon Drive. Sleeping out tonight, snuggled between two bushes within earshot of the road. When I stand up I can see the lights of the city of Palm Desert.
