Wilderness First Aid training (WFA) provides the base level of first aid training for various wilderness situations, which is valuable for both leading and participating in Scouting activities.
WFA covers a survey of topics and includes an adult CPR and AED review. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certification card from ECSI for Wilderness First Aid.
Course cost is $150.00. Click to register and pay.
We use a blended learning model that includes online modules for written learning on your own time schedule, and a one-day skills class which features practice with scenarios. This blended learning style is convenient for busy Scouts and maximizes engagement in the in-person section through practical scenarios.
The course will be taught by Katie Davis. She has more than 10 years’ experience in emergency medical response and 7 years’ experience teaching WFA. She has co-lead Venture Crew expeditions, including a 360-mile whitewater rafting trip in the Canadian wilderness in 2016, and a Crew hiking trek in Peru in the summer of 2022.
