This course covers all the fundamentals for leading a one-day rafting trip on a known river (a river that the leader has run before).

Loading, rigging, and understanding the complete rafting kit will be covered. You will also learn paddle strokes, paddle captaining and crew management; personal flotation device (PFD) and safety equipment; river reading and boat routing, river hazards, river swimming, swimmer rescue, throw bags, boat recovery, river knots, multi-boat float management and more.
Additional: A pre-course classroom session will be scheduled per participant/instructor agreement.

Prerequisites: WFA, Swimmer test, some river rafting experience and instructor approval is required.
Gear: All rafting equipment is provided. Personal gear is provided by the participant per supplied equipment list. (see resources section).
