This course prepares the trip leader to organize a single day kayaking trip for novice and experienced kayakers.

The morning will focus on trip logistics, sea kayaking gear, preparing to launch, safety talk, paddle strokes, navigation, coaching, managing a float group, wet exits, capsize recoveries and emergency responses.

After lunch, participants will plan and complete a 3-hour, out-and-back paddle.

The course will close with loading kayaks on vehicles and after-paddle gear care.

Prerequisites: WFA, Swimmer test.

Gear: All kayaking equipment is provided. Personal gear is provided by the participant per supplied equipment list (see resources section).
