Introduction to Sea Kayaking

This course will prepare the participant to organize day kayak trips in protected waters. Instruction will include American Canoe Association kayaking basics and Scouting America Safety Afloat guidelines. Simple kayak rescues will be covered (“wet exits” and reentering the kayak in deep water). Wetsuits or dry suits will be available for participants wishing to practice wet exits. We will kayak several miles along the Lake Washington shoreline and into the Sammamish Slough.

Participants should dress for inclement. Bring a water bottle and personal snacks/lunch to suit.

Course cost is $20. Register and pay today

This 4.5-hour course is designed with leaders of youth adventures in mind.
